Passioneq challenges ALL Ambassadors to the ALS ice bucket challenge
Pete Frates the man behind the #ALSicebucketchallenge that went viral around the world has came up with this event to raise awareness about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. He was diagnosed about two years and it has changed his whole life. For those of you who don’t know what ALS is, it is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that leads to muscle weakness, loss of the use of arms and legs and difficulty speaking, breathing and swallowing. “I ask of you, let’s beat up the process. Let’s work together and let’s get this disease a thing of the past.” Pete Frates states in a conference with the FDA. This challenge has reached far beyond Frates’s circle of friends and family, with celebrities including Selena Gomez, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, James Franco and many more. In the last three weeks Pete Frates’s message to the world has come up with $15.6M in donations to the ALS Association and its chapters (+766% increase). It touches our hearts to see so many of us helping to raise awareness and funds for the people battling one of the many awful diseases in the world.
Today, our Passioneq staff member Caroline Collado has accepted the challenge she was nominated to do by her best friend yesterday afternoon. So, Caroline and the Passioneq staff nominates YOU. The rules of the challenge ask of you to dump a bucket full of ice water over your head or to donate money to the cause! You have 24 hours, Ambassadors. Good luck. Don’t forget to tag us 😉
