Darragh Kenny won Thursday’s Sparkassen-Youngster-Cup in Aachen riding Chin Quidam VDL.
It was Ireland’s Darragh Kenny that was the best in Thursday’s Sparkassen-Youngster-Cup in Aachen riding Chin Quidam VDL (Chin Chin x Quidam de Revel). Coming in towards the end of the class, Kenny and the eight year old KWPN stallion jumped a beautiful clear round to cut the time down to 68.54 seconds – a time that was no less than 2.83 seconds faster than that of runner-up Eric Lamaze on Check Picobello Z (Cardento x Orlando). The latter pair was initially the best in Tuesday’s first youngster competition, but was later disqualified due to wearing wrong boots. This time around all was in order though, and the grey eight year old gelding impressed again.
As third last to go Henrik von Eckermann took over the third place riding Savita 2 (Cardento x Orlando), also she an eight year old. The best seven year old was Corbanus (Corrado I x Balou Du Rouet) that ended fifth with Emanuele Gaudiano.
